IFAD Country Programme PDF Print

IFAD’s country programme is aligned to the Government’s Social Economic Development Plan (SEDP) 2006 – 2010 and to the principles of the Hanoi Core Statement. Stronger alliances within the context of the UN reform process in VietNam.

 

At present, four projects are ongoing in 7 provinces, which include the : Rural Income Diversification Project (RIDP) in Tuyen Quang Province, the Decentralised Programme for Rural Poverty Reduction (DPRPR) in Ha Giang and Quang Binh Provinces, and the Programme for Improving Market Participation of the Poor (IMPP) in Ha Tinh and Tra Vinh Provinces, Developing Business with the Rural Poor Programme (DBRP) in Cao Bang and Ben Tre Provinces.

 

In 2008, majour achievements for the VietNam country programme include:

 

§  A new Results Based Country Strategic Opportunities Programme (COSOP) (2008-2012) was presented to the IFAD Executive Board in September 2008.

 

§  IFAD support for Pro-Poor Partnerships for Agroforestry Development in Bac Kan province has been designed, to be presented to the IFAD Executive Board in December 2008.

 

§   A Pilot Project targeted to the ethnic minorities living in the province of Gia Lai province, Central Highlands, funded by the Italian Government, has been activated.
